Animal enforcement officers removed 44 animals from a Henderson County home on Tuesday after they received several odor and noise complaints.

The home is in the 2700 block of Greenville Highway in Flat Rock.

Officers said they seized a total of 29 dogs and 15 cats. Four of the dogs needed immediate medical care. The other animals were placed at the Henderson County Animal Services Center.

Officers said that the owner of the animals had been receiving warnings since January regarding their care.

Lt. Ben McKay said, "We were very concerned about the barking dogs, cleanliness of the home and the health of the animals."

Officers said the occupant of the 1,150-square-foot house was at home when the animals were removed.
