PICKENS, S.C. -- A Tennessee man was killed Wednesday when he crashed his motorcycle into a vehicle that pulled out in front of him, troopers said.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol said that Wesley Travis Thomas, 24, of Lenoir City, crashed on Highway 178 in Pickens at about 5:30 p.m.

Thomas was flown to Greenville Memorial, where he was pronounced dead from blunt force trauma to chest and abdomen.

Troopers said that Thomas was wearing a helmet when he crashed.

South Carolina Highway Patrol is continuing to investigate the crash.
