Mandy Gaither

Although, Mandy Gaither grew up in the Lowcountry of South Carolina, she's happy to be back in the Upstate, home to her alma mater, Clemson University.

After graduation, Mandy accepted a reporter's job at WCSC-TV in Charleston, SC. She spent the next 6 1/2 years there, enjoying being close to her hometown of Summerville. At WCSC, Mandy won the South Carolina Broadcasters Association's STAR Award for Best Broadcast News-Series. She's also won two Associated Press awards: one for Best Investigative Reporting and one for Best Spot News. She was also honored with the Outstanding Media Support Award from the 14th Circuit Law Enforcement Network for a story she did on a DUI checkpoint.

Throughout her career, Mandy's had the chance to do some amazing things. She pulled 9-G's in an F16 while flying with the Thunderbirds. Also, in a story called "Search and Rescue," she was dropped in the ocean 3 miles off the coast of Charleston and rescued by a U.S. Coast Guard helicopter.

When she's not working, Mandy's usually going for a run or spending time with her family and friends. She also enjoys watching Clemson football and basketball with her husband, Shawn. He just happens to be a South Carolina grad, so that makes the games even more interesting. They have 3 cats: Oscar, Emma and Foster.
