John Eby joined WYFF News 4 as a weekend reporter in April 2008, after serving as an intern at the station while completing his degree in Broadcast Journalism at Bob Jones Univeristy.

While at Bob Jones, John worked for the university’s television station, WBJU. He worked as an anchor, reporter, producer, editor and photographer, gaining experience in every angle of TV production. While he was at WBJU, he also had the chance to meet and interview Gov. Mark Sanford and New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani.

John has lived in Greenville since he was 12, and is thrilled to cover the news in the community that he grew up in. He has always had a passion for discussing current events; in high school John and his debate partner won the chance to represent South Carolina at the National Forensics League Tournament in Salt Lake City, competing in Public Forum Debate.

When John isn’t working, he usually finds himself trying to play the guitar, spending time with his girlfriend, killing time with his Wii, looking for story ideas, or hiking with his dad.
