Mike Giordano joined WYFF News 4 in 2005 as a sports reporter/photographer and in November 2007 was promoted to Sports Anchor of WYFF News 4's Saturday and Sunday evening newscasts. He is proud to hail from Pittsburgh, home of the five-time Super Bowl Champion Steelers. He only wishes his Penguins could return to their Glory Days of the early 90s.

A graduate of Syracuse University, Mike also roots hard for his Orange, but says he doesn't miss those Syracuse snows. In fact, Mike now feels at home in the South and is a big fan of the great weather, nice golf courses and, of course, the beaches.

Before joining WYFF News 4, Mike spent two years working at WJHL, the CBS affiliate in Johnson City, Tennessee. There, he reported on many of the same sports that fans in the Upstate enjoy, including the SEC (Tennessee Volunteers), Southern Conference (East Tennessee State Bucanneers) and NASCAR.

Mike enjoyed covering several Sprint Cup, Nationwide, and Craftsman Truck races at the Bristol Motor Speedway, known to race fans as the World's Fastest Half Mile. He also covered the NHRA's Thunder Valley Nationals as well as several other forms of racing at several other tracks.

Mike began his career at WAGT, the NBC affiliate in Augusta where he covered the 2003 Masters and the controversy surrounding the Augusta National Golf Club's all-male membership. He says he got into sports broadcasting because he enjoys witnessing the unscripted drama that naturally comes at sporting events.

In his free time, Mike enjoys playing golf and watching sports. And, when he gets the chance, he likes to head to the beach to work on perfecting his body-boarding.
